Flight trips have become indispensable in this day and age. This is supposed to mean more technology is needed to make them swift and easy, right? Sadly, it has not gotten there yet, and in a bid to contribute, Aobik and Bhupendra aimed to design a solution to reduce the difficulty associated with flight booking and cancellation.
Problem Statement
If booking a flight is relatively easy, why then should cancellation be a thug of war? Here is an overview of the common problem with cancellation:
- Too many rules and conditions to dissuade users from cancellation
- No real-time update about the flight status after cancellation
- Restrictive options to modify flight booking later on
- Hidden charges and unclear information regarding flight modifications.
Solution
The design aimed to reduce these problems to the bare minimum so that users could easily cancel or modify their flights:
- Make Users aware of cancellation charges and other cost
- A tracking page to keep users updated about their flight status, especially with Notification
- Make rebooking easier with previous flight details and the option to edit as the user desires rather than starting from the beginning.
- Availability of more features and price reductions to encourage rebooking.
Expected Outcome
- An increase in the rate of rebooking by 20%
- Reduction of customer support ticket
- Improve brand image to have a chance at competition
